It has been an exciting couple of months at Kalihi Christian School! We are having a lot of fun, learning even more, and sharing the love of God to those around us and in our community!
February was a short month, packed with numerous activities! We started off the month strong with Pastor Kendal’s return! The kids missed him and his Shaka dance! We celebrated our 100th day of school! Our students and staff dressed up as 100-year-old people. We also had our cultural luau, where each class dressed up and performed a song based on the culture they had been learning about. We concluded our presentation with a whole-school hula led by Aunty Sepe and a potluck lunch, where we had the opportunity to taste a variety of dishes from different heritages. We learned all about who Henry Opukaha’ia was through multiple different activities. Learning about the Hawaiian Islands, the culture, Henry’s journey as a missionary, and his dream to share God’s message in Hawaii! We also flew our kites with our moms and dads. The students were able to decorate their kites and put them together with our help. On Kite Day, the students had a great time watching their kites soar through the sky.
