The God Who Opens Our Eyes

2 Kings 6:8-23

“Then Elisha prayed, “O LORD, open his eyes so he may see. Then the LORD opened the servant’s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.” — 2 Kings 6:17

Isn’t it marvelous when our eyes are opened and we see something inspiring for the first time?
Isn’t it odd how so many people with perfect eyesight are so blind to the glorious things of God?
Pray like Elisha that the eyes of our hearts are opened to the beautiful power and love of God?
“I am the LORD, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for me?” — Jeremiah 32:27

Heavenly Father,
I thank you that you invite me to a deeper relationship with You. Open my eyes to see your might and holy presence. You see all my sin, yet you forgive me and love me. You sent Jesus to die in my place on the cross. LORD forgive my sin, my wickedness and my rebellion through the payment of Christ’s blood. I belong to you. You have written my name in your book of life! I trust you to rescue me and all that follow Christ in this life and the next. Now use me to pray and intercede with your heart for others.
I pray this in the name of Jesus, my Savior and LORD. Amen!

“Your name will no longer be Jacob, but Israel because you have struggled with God and with men and have overcome.”  — Genesis 32:28

Heavenly Father,
I want a deeper relationship with You. Open my heart to know you more. You see all my sin, you know my past, yet you forgive me and love me. I have tried to manipulate you and others to get what I want. You sent Jesus to the cross to take the punishment for what I deserve. LORD forgive me. LORD change me from the inside out. Thank you for loving me. Let me wrestle with you until I learn to trust you and know that I belong to you. You have given me a new name and written it in your book of life! Now I trust you to lead me each day as I follow Christ.
I pray this in the name of Jesus, my Savior and LORD. Amen!
