For our last big youth event of 2015, we had our annual Winter camp. 35 students and 20 adults came to be a part of what we called [REAL]ationships (Real Relationships). At this camp we had fun with messy games, delicious food, mini competitions, beach time, daily devotionals and messages that inspired us to make solid commitments for Jesus.
One of our Elders, Lionel Goo, opened with an amazing Gospel presentation and a challenge for those who already believe in Jesus. He said “One of the keys to the believer, is that a Christian is continuously SURRENDERING one’s life to God”. This statement would tie in to one of the highlights at camp which was our closing night campfire. There we asked everyone earlier on the first day to start thinking about and praying about what they needed to surrender into the fire. It could be a sinful action, a person, an object, regardless of what it was, we asked “What is it that we hold on to more than God”? A person would write whatever it was that they were holding on to on their “Surrender sticks”, and in turn give it to Jesus by symbolically throwing it in the fire.
Many commitments were made and God was completely glorified. Please continue to pray for the youth of KUC to constantly surrender to Jesus.
