About Kalihi Union Church Preschool

Kalihi Union Church Preschool offers classes for children ages 3 to 5 years old.  We intentionally design our classes to be place that is welcoming, nurturing and academically stimulating.  Our environment is such that each child will feel loved, special and part of a large family.

Our curriculum includes monthly themes that are studied schoolwide.  Biblical concepts are woven into all aspects of the curriculum including the songs we sing, the art projects we complete, the books we read.  In our Kindergarten preparatory class (those students entering Kindergarten the following school year), we use the Abeka preschool curriculum for the teaching of phonics, reading and math.  The Abeka curriculum is a very strong phonics based program aimed to have the students reading by the time they enter Kindergarten.

Our day includes a wide variety of large and small group activities.  Students have outdoor play daily on our playground or in our enclosed gymnasium.  The daily schedule is structured and consists of teacher-directed activities, centers and free play time. We offer a well-balanced preschool curriculum and hope you will consider allowing us to partner with you in the education of your preschooler.
